Love to grow spinach. It is really handy to have in your veggie patch. You just pick as you need it and you can use it in so many ways in the  kitchen. I find a sunny spot in the garden, dig in some old straw and poo from the chook house, then bunch plant some seeds or seedlings. It is usually ready to pick in 8 weeks or so.
You know it's home grown when a friendly snail sits on your lunch plate ! I must have disturbed him..

I will be making some more, you can never have enough owls. They are so cute
Is everyone over owls, yet. They are everywhere. It's an epidemic
Well, the cupboard was bare agin, and on a wintry Saturday night, i didn't feel like taking the drive to the Big Smoke to get some take away (The Big Smoke being our small local town of Bunyip, that's 12 mins away). And i'd already opened a nice bottle of wine...

What's in the garden was some healthy looking celery and some spring onions, in the fridge were some scraps of bacon and ham, and i'd just bought a big bag of local spuds. Altogether i thought it would make a nice soup. Celery bacon and potato chowder to be exact.

Spent Saturday morning at the Jindivik Country Market. A perfect spot to spend some time. It's nestled in the hills behind Drouin and Warragul , the West Gippsland region of Victoria, and it's just so pretty. Especially so , because there are some clever crafty peeps there, i saw it with my own eyes

Turkish Flavours by Sevtap Yuce

A new recipe book, i never seem to haVe enough. This one is a beauty, and i picked it up at a good price from those Kindergarten Book order displays. The ones that they leave in the foyer for the waiting parents to look at, a captive market, i say. Nonetheless, a good way to get a good cookbook !
